LFPWLI: Taking Your Life Back After Years of Abuse and Finding Inner Strength with Christina Stimson, MD
In this episode, you'll hear:
The long-term impacts of childhood trauma
Why people often stay in the abuse
Tools to help people get out of their own dark cycles
In this episode, Mathew, Dr. Frank, and Christina discuss the physical manifestations of stress, what caused her to finally leave her abuser, and how abusers manipulate their victims and their victims' families. Dr. Christina opens up about what caused her to enter into and stay in her abusive relationships and how the abuse she experienced as a child impacted her as an adult. They also discuss the importance of shifting away from "why did it happen to me" and toward "why did it happen for me". Dr. Christina Stimson is a living example of the power of perseverance and is on a mission to show others that they can get their lives back no matter what.
Christina Stimson, MD, is board-certified in internal medicine and has overcome a lifetime of abuse and trauma to find strength and share her story with other people in need of hope. Dr. Christina grew up as the only daughter and the second of four children with a severely violent and emotionally abusive mother. She recounts that having no mother would have been better since hers left her feeling like she had no self-worth and denied her the right to feel love and safety. Her father was kind, but unfortunately, he was also unaware of the abuse, and she feared telling him would only make things worse for herself. He was a child of the Great Depression and insisted she become a doctor so she could have the kind of life that he was denied in poverty. Christina reluctantly went to medical school, where she met her first husband. She experienced more abuse at his hands, and after a horrible journey, she eventually escaped the marriage to find short-lived peace before meeting her second husband and starting the same cycle. Throughout her story, Dr. Stimson experienced a move across the world, isolation, two scary medical diagnoses, religious persecution, and betrayal from those who were supposed to love her most. She tells us that, through it all, it just never occurred to her that she could get up and walk away. She was living in fear until, one day, she was able to find the strength to take her life back from her abusers.
“If it doesn't seem right, it's because it isn’t. Get out!”

When You're Doing Everything Right but Something Still Feels Wrong: Understanding Energy Shaman Patricia Breece
In this episode, Mathew and Patricia discuss the difference between healing and curing, the difference between shame and guilt, and what sets healers apart from doctors, psychologists, and spiritual leaders. In this episode, we learn what physical symptoms are trying to tell us about our minds and what it may look like when our energy is out of balance. Patricia also talks about aligning the physical, mental, spiritual, and energetic domains to find the balance we are looking for. She tells us about the practice of soul retrieval: why it’s necessary, how to know when you need it, and what it is like to go through it. People must recognize their own worth, slow down, digest their emotions, balance their energies, and let go of what is no longer serving them.
Patricia Breece is a shaman, hypnotherapist, and healer who helps kids and adults work through trauma. She believes every person was born for a reason, and this is the reason she was born. This job chose her, and she felt called to teach others how to heal themselves and reach their full potential. She is on a continual learning journey and wants to help people understand that there is hope.
"Healing very often results in curing, but curing will never result in healing."
In this episode, you'll hear:
What it means to go through Soul Retrieval
Practical tools to balance your energy
What physical symptoms may be telling us about our minds

Monday Apr 18, 2022
Monday Apr 18, 2022
Welcome to episode 3 with Chad.
Chad is a former Army ranger who has created an American apparel line to support mental health. It's called Mental Joe. Why you ask? Keep reading...
Here at home, 1 in 4 Americans suffer from some type of mental illness. Chad can relate. He has first-hand experience with childhood and military traumas and he suffers from OCPD, anxiety, depression, all on top of an ongoing battle with a negative self image. In this last year, Chad has been undergoing Ketamine Infusions and, without question, they have changed his outlook on life, calmed his mind, and, he would say without hesitation, that they have probably saved his life.
He joins us to discuss, for the first time, the moment that changed his life:
The moment his parachute failed, and he came crashing down.
In this episode we explore the story that was owning Chad and we see what he's done to get out of his depressed state of mind. It's a brilliant conversation with 3 men, who all explore their feelings and even shed a few tears of joy.
Thank you for listening.
